well it would appear someone has taken our concept idea and created a pretty cool 3d game "Among the Sleep". have no fear. there are still going to be plenty of differences in our game. for one it is a 2d platform game. they are focused more on the horror aspect where as we are aiming for some dark comedy/horror. our teddy bear doesn't light up instead he is just a big smartass that doesn't do anymore than he has to. thank you taz for pointing out a game that has our basic concept idea. I would love to have some castle crasher type of backgrounds with different moving parts and what not. our monsters. it feels almost like we are running a southpark sketch where butter is trying to think of new evil plots though the Simpsons have done everything. with that said here is what we need.
monster artists: we need minions. think weak tiny easy to kill with flashlight. also need some patrolling monsters these monsters wont be able to die but will kill the boy on the spot. so the boy has to work his way around them without touching them. next we need the bosses. it would be nice to have them all in separate limbs for easy animation (head, chest, center, legs, arms hands and feet.)
background artists: we need cool backgrounds for maps. I want the maps to be fairly long think of games like limbo, castle crashers, and giana sisters twisted dreams. also think of a few moving elements like flying birds or swinging monster even hanging bodies. the more morbid the better.
intractable objects : think of things that may vanish when hit by the flashlight or certain color capes. for example a bridge or tunnel filled with thorny vines that only go away with a flashlight. maybe even a a curled up root that unrolls into a bridge by walking on it. ext ext
Music : I want you to come together and create both small ambient spooky loops with a soft melody. and heavy hitting action music for when the boy encounters enemies. then we need boss battle music. I feel 12 tracks total will be pretty useful.
sound effects: we need a sizzling sound for when the flashlight hits the enemies. also need a few background noises that will fit with the environments as well as growls snarls ext. ext.
animation. the biggest part for animation will be cut scenes such as the transformation of our teddy into the nightmare king. as well as the intro scenes for levels and boss intros. the scripts should help give a basic idea of what goes on.
voice actors: there will be plenty of work for the teddy especially as well as the other bosses. there will be a few different different voices in the background as well like whispers and what not so have fun with whatever yall feel is right.
programming: I honestly do not know much but I figure your basic job is to take everything and fit it all together.
I will try to help out with what I can however I am very limited at the moment.
I will try to answer any questions as fast as possible.
thank you all for your help. this game would never come to life without you all.
